I wrote Entanglement in November, December of 2021 trying something a little harder-sounding than what I’m used to. I’m very pleased with the bass synth in this track. Unless you write electronic music, it’s hard to appreciate how difficult it is to get the right bass sound out of software (plugin) synthesis. Using Dune 3 , I achieved this sound using a mix of sawtooth and square waves with minor unison on each. The two go through an overdrive distortion and ‘dimensional’ chorus (light). There are three sets of filters and a compressor. All of this just to get close to something like a Moog Little Phatty.
