I wrote The Cover of Night in 2014, and it’s the only track I have ever mastered so well initially that I didn’t feel the need to touch it again until I remastered it in 2023. The darker sound and title point to deeds done in darkness. These are the sorts of things we do not wish to do in the open light of day. Yet, they are not necessarily evil, such as the meeting between Jesus and Nicodemus.
